Birdy and I are wont to try new and interesting things. We are especially keen on health and nutrition at the moment. Being a wonderful cook, Birdy has acquired a profound understanding of the impacts of certain foods on the body. Having spent the last several years concerned with exercise and fitness, I am constantly developing new ways to stay active and strong. Together, we have begun an experiment that combines an approach to wellness that incorporates elements of diet, exercise and diversion in order to cultivate better versions of ourselves. In this process, I am finding that the health benefits may very well be secondary to the excitement of sharing this adventure.
This is my first post at the end of day one of our 21 day challenge. Birdy and I are bringing some common as well as individual goals to this challenge. She will be blogging alongside me as we progress and her posts will be updated and posted here along with mine. I will let her tell what her personal reasons are for taking on this challenge. My motivation is to share my passion for exercise and physical fitness with her and to fully embrace her approach to healthy cuisine. Together we intend to develop a lifestyle that helps each of us achieve our individual and common goals.
While one of the benefits to this challenge may be to look better, it is feeling better that is the greatest key for me. Fast approaching my 42nd birthday, I hope to maintain my feeling of youth, strength, confidence and motivation. As I reflect on this first day of our challenge, I am happy to feel the burn in my muscles fresh from having returned from the gym, writing while Birdy soaks in a hot Epsom salt bath. Time for a good nights’ sleep…Bring on the green smoothie, Mr. Mañana!
